**This event will happen twice on 16th February 2024. The morning and afternoon sessions are the same as each other. Please only book one ticket for one session per person – you can not attend both sessions. Each person needs their own ticket booked with their own name and personal email address. These are NOT a drop-in sessions, they’re timed events with a schedule. Please arrive for the session you have booked at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. We will not be able to swap your ticket if you arrive for the wrong session, and you will not be able to access the event at all if you arrive late.**
About this tech careers event
Are you an unemployed Londoner looking to get your first ever job in Tech? Attend this fantastic free information event and discover how you can access life changing entry level Tech roles via FREE bootcamps and other training opportunities, without a degree or any previous experience!
This event will explain the different entry level roles available across the Tech and Digital industry, what the day to day responsibilities look like for someone working in each of those roles, which roles suit which people, and the average starting salaries for each of those roles in London. This event will also detail the various FREE bootcamps, apprenticeships, and other training opportunities all designed to take you from being a total beginner with no previous experience at all, to being someone who’s ready to step into the workplace.
Also at this event – Join us as we delve into the inspiring stories of Googlers who have achieved success and found their calling in Tech without traditional degrees. Gain valuable insights as our panel of inspiring speakers shares their personal stories of triumph, perseverance, and success. Learn how they leveraged their skills, passion, and determination to carve out meaningful careers in various tech roles.
Representatives from Google’s apprenticeship programme will also be sharing details about the their Marketing Sales apprenticeships and Software Development apprenticeships, and how you can apply for them. You could even start your application on the day at this event! But please note that attending this event does not guarantee a place or improve the likelihood of you securing a place on this apprenticeship programme or any other training opportunity. The purpose of this event is for you to gain information and insights into the different options that are available.

There are 2 time slots for this event, both on Friday 16th February 2024. The morning session will run from 10:30am until 12:30pm. The afternoon session will run from 2:30pm until 4:30pm. As mentioned above, both sessions are the same as each other and each person can only attend one session. Please book your ticket yourself using your own name and your own personal email address. These are NOT drop-sessions, they are timed sessions with a schedule. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time on your ticket as you will need to be checked in through security before you are able to access the event. If you arrive for the wrong session or you arrive late, you will be turned away.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an independent event aimed at providing valuable insights into tech careers. This event is not officially affiliated with Google, but the event will take place at Google’s London office and some Google staff will be sharing their experiences and information about training courses. This event is not a recruitment exercise and there will be no recruitment activity of any kind at the event.
**ELIGIBILITY** – Please be aware that this event its self and the training opportunities discussed at this event are strictly only open to people who meet the following eligibility criteria. Please do not book a ticket for this event if you do not meet ALL of the following criteria:
- You must be currently unemployed OR you are employed part-time working for 16 hours or less per week OR you are employed on a zero hours contract.
- You must currently live in 1 of the 33 London boroughs proper – unfortunately even areas just outside of London do not count.
- You must NOT already currently be in any form of education.
- You must NOT already have a Computer Science degree or any degree relevant to the career you want to break into.
- You must have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
Please also be aware that, while not all of the training opportunities we connect people with have an upper age limit, some of them do.
London Digital Jobs and Skills Hub particularly encourages women who are interested in breaking into the Tech industry to attend this event. However this event is open to all genders as long as all the eligibility criteria above are met.

The funding provided to London Digital Jobs & Skills Hub is specifically allocated for helping people who meet the eligibility requirements listed above. If you do not meet these requirements, we are unable to help you and therefore this event probably isn’t worth your time. If you are aware that you do not meet these eligibility requirements, please do not book a ticket for this event. This event has limited capacity, and you would be taking away the opportunity to attend from somebody else who would be benefiting more from the event.
