IT Service Desk Apprenticeship With General Medical Council: #CreateYourFuture

This a great opportunity to work as a apprentice at a IT Service Desk and be responsible for providing users with remote and desk-side technical support across all GMC facilities.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing work in a Service Desk system
  • Sending emails
  • Making phone calls
  • Visiting customers at their desk
  • Involving other team members and third parties when required
  • Creating and completing clear, concise, and accurate documentation including user guides for customers and technical and project documents for use by other IS staff
  • Maintaining and building relationships with colleagues, internal customers, and external suppliers
  • Managing physical IT stock and software licenses making sure all assets are appropriately tagged, recorded, and tracked around the organisation including undertaking audits
  • Suggesting improvements to help the teams continuously improve
  • Carrying out general administration including preparing and circulating documents, ordering equipment, and arranging meetings

Desired skills

  • A good general understanding of and interest in Information Technology
  • The ability to understand technical matters, analyse information, solve problems, and to learn quickly
  • Experience in using the Internet as a research tool
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office 365 and Windows products
  • The ability to build and maintain good working relationships with team members, as well as colleagues throughout the GMC

About This Apprenticeship

Annual wage: £17,158.00

Working week: Monday to Friday, shifts TBC.

Total hours per week: 37.50

Expected duration: 15 months

Possible start date: 17 Jan 2022

Apprenticeship level: Advanced, Level 3 (A level)
