The Code4000 programme is open to women aged 18+ who live in London and have personal experience of the criminal justice system, or have been indirectly affected by it.
Computer programming is a skill much sought after by employers in the UK where there is a shortage of software development professionals – especially amongst women. By teaching coding, we are maximising the opportunity for women with experience of the criminal justice system to gain employment.
No previous experience or qualifications are required, however all participants must have access to a device and internet connection.
About the course
Code4000 is a free, flexible 12-week course aimed at equipping women facing barriers to work with the core skills for a career in tech. The course is delivered online (with optional in-person sessions) at dates and times to suit you.
Uniquely designed, Code4000 embraces the potential of remote, self-guided learning, offering participants the flexibility to engage with the curriculum from the comfort of their own space, with support of an experienced tutor. Code4000 aims to nurture personal growth, foster economic independence, and open doors to long-term career opportunities for every participant.
Upon completion of the course, learners will get access to a Career Coach, who will provide them with support to develop their employability skills and gain support in obtaining employment or further learning opportunities.
