OVERVIEW Career Hive is a new, free employability programme funded by the John Lewis Foundation, specifically to support care experienced young people to gain valuable skills, and help empower them to work towards employment, further education or training/upskilling. WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS GET? • 1-1 bespoke advice and guidance from a Career Mentor • 4-week programme of activities • Support to stabilise personal circumstances and help start thinking about a career • Advocating on your behalf with various stakeholders • Skills and confidence required to apply for a job • In-work support on getting a job and work with employers to support you • Monthly social events to connect to like-minded people WHO’S IT FOR? Age – 18 – 30 year olds Location – Manchester Employment status - Participants should have experience of the care system and not be in education, employment or training.
