About This Opportunity

Course/Provision content: The programme is to respond to the local need in the the City of Wolverhampton that require individuals into the Catering industry. The programme will support and prepare eligible 19+ year-old West Midlands residents to move into good quality, sustained job opportunities in these sectors. There are currently 60 vacancies across Wolverhampton. The learners will also be supported through own barriers to work and welfare concerns to ensure they are ready for work and have all aspects of key information that may cause a negative impact to them progressing into work. The impact of completing the SWAP programme, is they are offered a learning programme with a job outcome, with the full support of BCTG, Approved Training and the employer. Learners will be supported to get ready and back into work by understanding the barriers to work and how they can be supported to ensure they are able to return to work around their own life commitments, this is ideally suited for parents and cares looking to find flexible work around their commitments. Learners will be offered the opportunity to attend an interview and get a full-time job role as a catering Assistant Given a full and comprehensive understanding of the role, so they can make an informed decision if the job is right for them. They will complete the following training that is transferable into other hospitality and catering roles- Employment within catering Personal development Customer service skills Food hygiene and safety level 2 Health and safety level 2 Food Allegan training level 2 First aid awareness Safeguarding and prevent training Work experience on the job – Work alongside a professional to gain valuable experience within the catering sector with progression into employment Key information about role • Locations: Wolverhampton • The roles have progression from assistants through to team leaders and managers. There is also a cross work opportunity • Placement/Work Experience: The onsite team


Eligibility & Requirements

Aged 18+ and claiming benefits Customers need to unemployed and in receipt of either: • Universal Credit • Job Seekers’ Allowance • Employment & Support Allowance Customers must also be aged 19+ as of 31st August 2022 to be eligible to study during 22/23 academic year and have lived in the UK for the last three years. Customers will be required to participate in a pre-screen interview and also complete a Literacy and Numeracy initial assessment via BKSB. Must have basic IT skills – be able to access email , use a PC , word and uploaded documents Must have at least entry level 3 English
