4 Things you need to do before A-level Results Day

things you need to do before a level results day

What do you need to do before A-level Results Day? Make sure you’re up to speed with what to do next when your A-level results arrive…

1. Read up on A-level results day in advance

Our guide to A-level results day is a step by step guide to what happens next after you finally see your results. It’s a good idea to read up on your options in advance so you know what to expect.

If you’re applying for university, or apprenticeships, or further education course, or heading into the world of work (or even if you’re not sure what you want to do next) it will give you next steps on what you can do.

Our A-level results day guide also covers potential issues with your results, if you want to think about resits or remarks.

2. Applying to Uni? Get to grips with your UCAS application

If you’re still not sure about the UCAS application process, our guides may be able to help you see the sunshine through the clouds:

3. Interested in alternatives to Uni?

There are lots of alternative life, study and work options if university is not for you.

See our guide to what to do after A-levels for a range of choices and life paths to consider.

4. Visit The Student Room for peer support and advice

‘Peer support’ means support from people at the same level as you – in other words, A-level students who are also waiting for results day and feeling waves of nerves/anticipation.

Check the official Student Room A-level results thread for sharing the highs, lows and everything in between with people in the same boat as you. It’s generally a very supportive online forum. Any advice given there is not from experts, but sometimes it’s helpful to hear from people like you – especially when they’re a year or so older and can share insights about next steps they took. This forum section can get quite busy as results day approaches, so if you have a question for them, you may get an answer quite quickly.
